Our Story
In 1994 Perry Purkey, President and CEO, established Purkey Landscaping Company with one truck and one mower.Â
Today our business has grown to serve the landscaping industry with the tools and experience to complete any outdoor living project.Â
It has been an exciting journey over the last 25+ years and we would not have changed a thing. We are so blessed to be a family owned and operated business.Â
Our daily goal is lived out in Proverbs 16:3 Â Commit to the Lord all you do, and He will establish your plans.
In 2016 Cole O'Bryon joined our team as a seasonal employee and has since grown within the company now holding the position of Operations Manager.Â
Cole oversees several different crews including mowing, hardscaping, and landscaping. He is one of our main landscape designers and completed several certifications in hardscaping and patios.
Cole is also a son-in-law to Perry and is continuing the legacy of a family owned and operated company. He enjoys getting to meet new clients and loves transforming backyards into spaces you and your family will love.
Kristy is the wife of Perry and has been helping in the business since the day it started. Her job title cannot be covered in one word, as she is involved in many different areas of the company!Â
Her day to day job tasks include the book keeping and accountant work for Purkey Landscaping, along with planning events for The Plant Barn and getting all the seasonal flowers for each season.
Kristy grew up in Waynesville and loves being able to serve the community here!
Madison is the daughter of Perry and Kristy, and also the wife of Cole O'Bryon. She came on our team in 2021 and started to be the social media manager and marketing.
She enjoys staying home with her 2 boys Eli and Clay, and helping out her family business. Social media is always changing and it is a fun to challenge to keep learning as our business grows.
Marketing with social media is one of the best tools any company can use!
Tammy is long time childhood friend of Kristy as they grew up on the same street! She is a long time supporter of Waynesville and many businesses within our community.
Tammy has the best creative mind as she is the creator and designer of all our classes out at The Plant Barn. She enjoys instructing the classes and teaching people about all the different flowers. Sign up for one of our classes throughout this year and come meet her!
